ReadyNAS RN316 + Seagate ST3000DM001

I just tried zeroing the whole drive (it took just over 5hrs) with the command
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdf
I entered the drive into the Netgear ReadyNAS, rebooted, held the reset button in and selected 'Factory Reset' from the boot menu and hit OK.
I'm still getting the same error at this point 'ERR: Could not p'
