ReadyNAS RND4210 "Your NETGEAR storage is not accessible from this computer..."

Hi all,

First time poster here.

My uncle passed away in November and he had this NAS device in his office. On the back it says ReadyNAS RND4210 but not sure which version or model or whatever.

I've figured out to download RAIDar but now I've done that and it discovers the NAS fine on my network it comes up with the following message:

"Your NETGEAR storage is not accessible from this computer. Please check your network settings."

Any help would be appreciated.

Despite being on the same network, it required my PC to also have a wired connection. I've moved it closer to my hub and plugged it in there rather than stealing my PC's ethernet and putting my PC on Wi-Fi.

I'm glad it works, but it actually doesn't require the PC to be connected with ethernet.

      Possible reasons -

      (a) perhaps the wifi connection on the PC was set up as "public" instead of "home", "private" or "work".

      (b) perhaps the wifi isn't set up to allow an ethernet connection.  For instance, it could be set up as a "guest" network, or it could be double-routing.
