ReadyNAS RNDP6000-200EUS - "Could Not Mount Root Raid d" #26374477
Hi All
My current ReadyNas RNDP6000-200EUS was only replaced under warranty back in July 2015, previously having a Pro Business Edition RNDP6350 with a failed power supply. Apparently my hardware warranty is still valid till March 2016.
The unit is showing "Could Not Mount Root Raid d" on the display. I have gone around the community but seems that it is not a common problem on these models. I have not tried anything like reboot or re-install any OS. Currently running RaidX and loaded with 4 x 1.5T Seagate Barracuda ST31500341AS + 2 x 3T Seagate ST3000VN000.
Can someone please guide me through?
Is my data still SAFE?
Thanks in advance.
No problem :)

Looks like from your case you had a bad disk in the chassis.

Actually it was a bad disk. The only problem is that I am not receiving any email notifications as no matter how I set my gmail and local account I get an SMTP error message. I have also enabled POP access on the gmail settings but still no luck. Any help?

There's a log called msmtp.log that'll explain why your e-mails are failing.

That error means that the root raid can't be mounted. The Root RAID is where the OS is stored on the disks. So if this can't be mounted the NAS will fail to boot. An OS re-install would not resolve this.
I would contact support as StephenB suggested.

I suggest that you contact support (support.netgear.com). Software support is not covered by your warranty, so they likely will charge. Ask about "per incident" support.
