Readynas RR4312X inital setup
Hi, I'm settng up a ReadyNAS RR4312X (populated with 12x 8TB drives) from scratch.
I've connected both PSU's and the unit powers on (fans spin at max for a few secs) but the blue power light remains flashing, and RAIDar cannot find the device no matter what I try (direct PC to NAS connection, connection via a L2 switch etc etc).
I've tried reseating the DIMMs, and reseated all of the drives but nothing works.
TBH the user manual is no help whatsoever, so any help from this forum would be hugely appreciated!
Many thanks

If you power up the NAS diskless, can you find it with RAIDar?

Hi StephenB, unfortunately no, booting diskless makes no difference (I've tried both populated and unpopulated, also tried reseating the DIMMs etc).
Is a rapidly blinking blue power light normal btw?
Thanks!

I don't own a rackmount, so I am not sure about the LED status. The hardware manual says it means blinking means it is "entering boot mode" (and gives no idea about the speed). See page 64 here: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RN2120/ReadyNAS_OS6_Rackmount_HWM_EN.pdf
You could try seeing if you can access the boot menu (perhaps running the memory test): https://kb.netgear.com/31316/How-do-I-access-the-boot-menu-on-my-ReadyNAS-3312-4312X-4312S
Is this a newly purchased ReadyNAS (but not used equipment)? If it is, you have complimentary access to paid Netgear support (my.netgear.com).
