Most of the knowledge base articles are for windows/mac.
You can use SMB, but I think NFS likely works better with linux. You'd mount the NAS shares on the client PCs, by creating mount points and using the normal mount commands.

An RN212 should give very good performance for sustained large file transfers - around 100 MB/sec. Directory browsing and small file transfers will be slower, but still will be pretty good.
