Readynas Ultra 2 stuck on booting
Hello,
Since a couple of days, my Ultra 2 Nas show me an corrupt root error.
I tried several times to factory reset and os reinstall but it didn't worked : after reboot i always got an corrupt root error.
I checked hdd but nothing, there are in good condition. I removed 1 hdd but nothing changed. I also tried to boot with usb recovery without success (different brands of thumbdrives)
In my log i can see
cat /var/log/frontview/initrd.log
[2015/08/24 20:58:08] Could not properly extract root image!
[2015/08/24 20:58:08] Updated from RAIDiator 4.2.27 to 4.2.27.
Looks like some files are corrupted in installed firmware. What can i do to solve that ? Thanks
Hello JennC,
My problem has been remotely solved by 'mdgm' and to conclude : There was a corrupted file on the internal flash.

Hello ozlard,
Here are steps we often do with cases like this.
- Factory reset with both disks inserted then try install again.
- Remove one of disks leaving one disk inserted, factory reset. If same problem remove the 1st disk you left inserted and insert the one you removed then try again
- Use diagnostic tools to check the disks diagnostic tools.
- If you have a spare disk, test it with the NAS too.
- USB boot recovery
If same results after all these, contact support center
