I've installed drives just by pushing them in to the SATA slots. Do the drive trays make another connection to tell the motherboard that a drive is installed? I thought they were just for ease of use and vibration reduction. I would like to get a pair of trays eventually, but I thought it would work temporarily by just pushing them into the SATA slots? Even with them in the problem remains the same :(
