Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the reply it comes up with:

Hi martinbreeze,
On your PC, try to execute the command below in CMD.
net use * /delete
If the issue persists, apply these permission settings on your share/s.

Hope this helps!
Kind regards,

Are the Windows 10 system and the NAS in the same workgroup?
Also if you log in via PIN try using the password instead.

Solution below that worked for me, hopefully it'll help others, no other suggestions fixed the issue for me. A very fustrating problem that shouldn't exist in the first place!
1) On the NAS go into "Security" >"User & Group Accounts".
Add a new account with a password. Ignore eferything else.
This won't affect how you access the NAS from other computers, it's just an additional step to get access from the Windows 10 machine.
2) On the windows 10 machine put "credential manager" (without quotes) into the search/run box. then go to "Windows Credentials" > "Add a Windows Credential"
Put the NAME of the NAS in there, the IP won't work. Then put in the user/password for the account you created.
Now it should allow you access. Let you map it as a drive etc.
