ReadyNAS104 not recognizing external hard drive

You could try to format it from the NAS. But, of course that would wipe it, so it's only a solution if the drive is empty (or if you back up what's on it).

      Why? Does it show an error? You don't have the option to format?

      Can you post a screenshot?

        Here is one of the messages in the log:

         

        External storage device is connected but the file system is not recognized.
         
        I am not able to access the HDD to format it on my NAS server.
         
        I tried to attach a couple of screen shots; but I am not able to.
