Recovering Files from RN102

Hello all.

At the start I'm sorry for my English, it's low :) I hope you understand what I have a problem.

Once time I bought the new hard drive for my RN102. It was the second HDD to my NAS. I intended to create a RAID0 or JBOD. I installed the HDD in to NAS, then he began making a RAID1 automatically. When he created volume i want to change the type of RAID. I was not aware of what I'm doing. It was my first contact with RAIDs and NAS serwers. I was destroy volume with RAID1. Then I saw what I did. I lost my data.

There is a way to recover data from HDD. After the incident, the drive has not been used. I made a copy of the sector by sector on new HDD.

For any suggestions, advice and help thank you.

    So you have no backup?

We do warn you before proceeding with destroying the volume that your data will be lost if you proceed.

  • It's going to be difficult to recover your data. This is "data carving" and highly advanced processed. You're best chance is with a profesional data recovery company, but it will be costly.

About your target configuration, I'd advise you to create two separate volumes or to use a single JBOD, as a RAID0 on a RN102 will have no advantages over JBOD, only inconveniences.
