You can downlaod and instaill the fireware 4.1.8 youself.We can't access the private ip 192.168.168.168.

Finally I can access my NAS eveytime I try to download and install 4.1.8 I saids local file failed. What extension is the update file. I just get .8 at the end of it which is not an extension.

It doesn't have an extension, just right click on the link to the firmware download the file, then upload via System > Update > Local.

Is your NAS picking up an IP now? If so can you try to install this add-on?: http://www.readynas.com/download/addons/4.1/Enable_Remote_Access_1.0.bin

If it works let support know the 5-digit ID that you get.

i assign my old static IP again after the customer service mess up all my IP address poor customer service support from them. I will try that and install that, when I get home tonight. I don't really trust the support. I leave the NAS on tomorrow morning would you be able to access it and resolve the issue.

Please give us a remote access to you unit(forward port 443 or open ssh and forward port 22), you aslo can give a teamviewer access to your pc.
