RBS750 drops wired connection to RBR 750 and reverts to wireless
House has thick granite walls so CAT5 wiring to every room connected via Netgear GS324 switch. Orbi set up as follows - fibre internet wired to the WAN port on the RBR750, RBR750 wired to the switch. RBS750 in another part of the house syncs wirelessly (blue LED) but gets poor connection, low data transfer rate. Turned the RBS750 off, wired to the network, restarted the RBS750, got a blue LED and good transfer rate. Orbilogin shows the RBS is connected by wired. But an hour later orbilogin says the RBS is only connected to RBR750 wirelessly, and I can't connect a device to the RBS750 wirelessly. All on latest v7.2.3 61. What am I doing wrong?
If things are working, leave it and let it run.
At some point, I'd recommend you downgrade the system back to v.21 and avoid v.31. We can't recommend v.31 currently.
Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

First - the device list in the Orbi app is untrustworthy - don't worry about that.
Second - determine the RBS's IP address from the router admin web page Device List, and then go to its debug page - for example, 192.168.1.148/debug.htm
You will see, as in the picture below (note - the rest of the info is different - we have different Orbi models), a "Hop count" figure - if it's not 1, nothing can connect to it. If you see blank or 0, power cycle the RBS and see if you can then connect to it. If it's one, it's another issue.
If the Hop Count is 1 (which it should be:)
Can you connect with ethernet to the RBS when WiFi connection does not work? What is the failure scenario - do you see your Orbi Network's SSID for a device, but it gives you a failure message? Or do you not even see an SSID in the "Available networks" list for the device to connect to WiFi?
Does the RBS connect and maintain connection if you bring the RBS to near or same room as the RBR and ethernet connect it to the back of the RBR? Would be good way to narrow down if cabling or switch is the problem.
CAT5 isn't really rated for 1000Mpbs, max is 100Mbps. CAT6 cabling is recommended.
Please re-verify the FW version.

Thanks Furrye38, hadn't considered the Cat5 restriction, that could well be it. Can't rewire the house inexpensively though. In fact although Orbilogin describes the backhaul status as Poor it is giving me very near the maximum speed from my fibre internet connection.
What FW version is loaded on the system?
That's a busy system with that many RBS connected.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Thanks for sticking with this Furrye38. They are all on v7.2.3.61_5.0.24
The house is 4500 sq ft, there is a central granite built farmhouse, with 2 wings and a kitchen that runs across the back. The fibre comes in to one of the wings so I have to put the RBR there, and get the signal through the main house, into the kitchen and down to the far wing. The distance between the router and the last satellite is just over 80 feet. To get the router to connect to the RBSs in the main house (lounge, gym and kitchen), through the granite, two satellites are only physically about 15 feet away, the third is about 30 ft from the first two but the signal is poor/degraded in all 3. I've tried several locations before I managed to get blue connections.
I started with nothing in the Gym or Utility and found I could not reach the far wing or the Gym (purple LEDs). I bought one for the Gym (blue LED) but still got yellow LED on the in the bedrooms so I put one in the Utility. Now I get blue throughout but the signal is a bit degraded in the bedrooms and the gym.
Incidentally I'm not sure that I have only Cat5, the cable has 4 twisted pairs which the internet tells me is Cat5e.
What I don't get is why the RBS drops the wired connection intermittently.
I'd bring the GYM RBS to same room or near the RBR and ethernet connect it there.
IF all or most of the RBS are ethernet connected and they are not connecting and showing "wired" status, usually means there is a problem between the RBR and RBS in cabling/LAN switch, In wall cabling or LAN patch panel problem.
What region are you located?
