Remove inactive volumes to use the disk #1,2,3,4,6 - Main Volume Gone - PLEASE HELP!
Hi All,
It's been a month since I posted a thread about this problem here:
I've found five other forum threads discussing the same issue:
None of these other discussions provide a solution we can use.
It's clear we're not the only one with this problem and we're concerned that a 6.8.1 firmware bug may put our backup NAS (as well as other 6.8.1 users) at risk.
We want to understand whether this volume failure is due to firmware or hardware, and whether or not our volume is recoverable. Ultimately, we need to know if the NAS itself needs to be replaced.
This community has always been an outstanding source of information and support and is one of the reasons why we trust ReadyNAS for our business storage. But we're very concerned that the first catastrophic volume failure we've encountered in over 8-years of reliable use appears to have slipped thru the community support cracks.
mdgm-ntgr, Skywalker, JohnCM_S, JennC -
We would be very grateful if one of you (or someone else in community support with the technical expertise) could look at our logs and help us understand what's going on, so we can make a decision on how to best move forward. I'm happy to provide logs and any additional info. Now that the ReadyCloud portal is back up on MacOS, I have full remote admin control of the faulty NAS and can provide remote secure login if needed.
Thanks for your help.
best,
--dhl
