Replacement Disk
Hi,
Need to replace a disk on my ReadyNAS Duo - what are the best disks for it?
Disks are currently Seagate ST3500321CS 465 GB , 29 C / 84 F , Write-cache ON but I want to upgrade the one I replace with a 1TB.
can anyone help me as tio what is best and where to buy??

- Personally I'd go with 2 TB, since the prices are quite similar (at least in the US).
The western digital wd20efrx is a good choice, though you might need to run a utility to change the head parking threshold.
The 1TB model is the wd10efrx.
Both are intended for NAS, and have longer warranties then consumer desktop drives (3 years instead of 1). StephenB wrote: though you might need to run a utility to change the head parking threshold

- Yes you can, although if you are using xraid you will not see any increase in volume capacity until you replace the second drive.
If you're using each disk as a separate volume, you'd need of course to copy the data to another location, replace the disk then copy the data back. - v helpful - many Thanks
