The default admin password is "password" (no quotes).

Sounds like you followed the boot menu instructions for the v1 and tried the default password for the v1.

The unit says v2 on it.

All that tells me is that it is either a v1 hardware revision 2 or a v2. Please have a look at the article I linked to.
