Restor iSCSI drive with 2 different initiators
Hello,
I have a Netgear ReadyNAS with a iSCSI target configurated. Currently, I have 2 initiators connected to him: server A and server B. I use from these 2 servers my iSCSI disk like a backup...

Hi PlugNasWine
You may want to try this
1. on the LUN group that the iSCSI LUN is a member of, if he is limiting access to specific IQN's then he has to add the IQN of the new server. If he is allowing any IQN to connect, then they need not worry about this part
2. on the new server you go to iSCSI initiator and enter hte target IP address, (IP address of the NAS)
it will find the NAS and connect to the LUN
Go to management > disk management the volume will show up but it will be offline.
Right click on it and change to online, the volume comes online and all data is present
Hope this helps!

Hi PlugNasWine
Welcome to the Community!
If you have allowed specific IQNs on the ReadyNAS then you might need to add the IQN of the other server.
Though you can connect 2 initiators I don't think this is recommended.
Hope this helps!

Hello Marc_V,
Thanks for your reply, ok it's not recommended to have 2 initiators, but if I want to restore one of them, I have to re-create a server with the same IQN initiator and I will see what I had stored with the previous one ?
I'm afraid to lost all my backup in the case where my server crash and I have no way to get back what I had stored.
