If you do this, you will need to power down the NAS before removing the drives, (and be careful to reinsert them into the NAS when it is powered off).

I suggest that you check your drives one-at-a-time by performing an Extended test using the WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics: http://support.wdc.com/product/download ... =612&sid=3
Label them by slot, and return them to the same slot.
