If you purchased new, you do have 90 day phone support which covers installation. It might be good to use that.

I have tried another device in the network socket of the RN102 and that works.
I want to clarify this - I am guessing that you mean you tested the network port io your router that is connected to the NAS. Let me know if I have that right.
What model is the router?
Try downloading RAIDar (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20684/~/readynas-downloads?cid=wmt_netgear_organic) and see if it can find the NAS. It should be able to do this even if the RN102 can't get an IP address.

Sorry I meant to say RAIDir does not find it either.
I have a DUO v2 on the same switch which it does find and is working fine. I have tried with that turned off also. No joy.
Thanks

I think the fastest option is to use your 90 support.
I am guessing that there is a hardware failure in the chassis.

Yeah, I had it a few months now so I think I am out of that now. It has taken me a while to find time to set it up. I have tried the support but I have nad no success geting through.

If RAIDar can't see the NAS when with both disks removed, then almost certainly there is a hardware problem. The hardware warranty is three years.
my.netgear.com is probably the best way to access support, there is an option there for replacing a defective product.
