RN10223D really dead!
So, my ReadyNas is dead. It does not respond to any commands. I have removed the harddrives and removed all partitions (on a Windows 10). I have used a the USB Recovery Tool to flash new firmware (...

Your system must have been running 6.2.5 or earlier before you did USB Boot Recovery.
Systems running 6.2.5 or earlier cannot be directly upgraded to 6.6.0.
It should now be fixed.

Which firmware were you running before attempting USB Boot Recovery?

Hi Mdgm,
That is a question that I do not have the answer to.
It was first setup by a colleague of mine and it has done its job for a while.
I did read that you should not downgrade by using USB so I took the latest avaiable.
Nothing changed by trying this. It has been reacting the same ever since I got it in my hands.
It was upgraded to the latest available firmware at the time of purchase.

Thank you for a very quick respons to my problem.
You are probably right regarding the previous firmware version altough I cannot say for sure.
Best regards,

I have a READYNAS 10200 which has this same problem. Bought from a person who claims it is brand new. Since I can't return it so I was trying to get it back to life by doing 'Reinstall OS' and 'Factory Default' and it made no difference. As a last resort, I did the USB recovery. Since I didn't know the current firmware level, I used the latest firmware 6.6.0 (arm) and it still did the same thing. Is there anyway I can get this box working. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

NoMfgSupport, I could tell as a necessary upgrade to run 6.4.x and later firmware had not taken place.
cmh385 I have sent you a PM. - mdgm-ntgrDec 06, 2016NETGEAR Employee Retired
It turns out cmh385 had the same situation. The system had been running 6.2.5 or earlier on it when the USB Boot Recovery to 6.6.0 was done. I suspect USB Boot Recovery to 6.6.1 Beta would have resolved the problem.
