When you say it did not turn on, what happens? Do any of the lights come on? Does the fan come on? Does the LCD come on? Or is there no response at all?
If the NAS is getting stuck booting then it would be better to troubleshoot it with the drives in the unit they are in now.
Do note as Nhellie mentioned that the firmware is installed onto the disks. So if the problem is with the OS on the disks it will remain when you move the disks to a new chassis.
I would use a scratch disk (must not be from your array) to update the other 104 to 6.2.4 or 6.2.5-RC1 before powering down, removing the scratch disk and moving the disks across (keep the order the same) if you really want to try moving the disks to a new unit.
