RN212 can't connect to admin page and power button not responding

Evening all,

ReadyNAS 212 with two 3Tb WD red drives configured in RAID 1 and  OS6 V6.10.8 firmware.

I've had this problem for some considerable time and have just lived with it but now it's annoying.

I can't connect to Frontview either directly via a web server or through RAIDar. The RAIDar button is greyed out and the frontview web page just sits there with a moving bar telling me it's trying to connect but then eventually fails.

At the same time, the power button no longer responds. Pressing it does absolutely nothing; no flashing lights, no disk activity, zilch!!

The only way to recover the situation is to pull the power lead and reconnect after a few moments. After that rather abrupt reboot, everything works as it should; RAIDar's happy, web browser connects immediately and the power button functions. It then remains fine for a period of time ( may be hours, days or even weeks) then the problems return.

I've tried scheduled power downs and power ups but the results of that are inconclusive. Sometimes it fixes the issue, sometimes not.

Anyone any idea what's going on? and how to effect a permanent fix.

Try downloading the full log zip file immediately after you reboot the NAS.

What apps are running on the NAS?

Do you have antivirus or file search enabled?

Thanks for the rapid response. Current running apps are "Plex media server" and "Tftp server for Readynas" to supporty Raspberry Pi network booting. Antivirus is running and up-to-date but file search is off.

What am I looking for in the log files? There's an awful lot of it?

I'm wondering if the NAS is running out of memory. But there could other relevant errors.

But I agree it can be hard to sift through it all.

Not sure if it's relevant but I also have a WD 1Tb USB drive attached for scheduled nightly backups.
