RN3100 - Backups and Snapshots fail - Just Empty Folders created

Dear Netgear-Community,

since my uptate from 6.1 to the 6.2.x-Software my backup and snapshot jobs won't work as intended.

Backup and Snapshot seems to run "sucessfully" but the backed up folders are empty.

Some Details:

- v.6.2.4 in use (but issue present in all 6.2.x versions)

- Backup local folder to USB

- filesystem does not matter. (tried to format to ext4, but stil fails)

- i tried differend local folders.

Log-output states sucess. Backup duration was only 1 second....way to fast.

Please help me troubleshooting this issue.

I would be very happy to have a working backup ;-)

Thank you in advance

    Hello Brataq,

    Welcome to the community!

May I ask if this is ReadyNAS 3100?

How do you access these shares that you have setup as destination?

Are you still able to access files from other shares of the NAS? Can you try a Backup Job with source is one of the NAS shares and destination is another share of the NAS and see if that works?

    Regards,

      Hi JennC,

      thank you for your response.

Yes you're right. This is ReadyNAS 3100.

Access is configured for SMB, HTTP and DLNA.

Normally i access/write the files form multiple windows clients, sometimes from android.

I'm still able to access all files of the NAS.

Manual copy using the Web-Frontend works fine.

After configuration (withous running it) of the backup-job  from one share to another, the frontend became unresponsive. I had to restart the whole NAS.

After the restart i could start the new backup-jop.

The result was the same. The new folder was created, but without files and subfolders.

        Hello Brataq,

Can you still write to any of the NAS shares?

If it doesn't then it appears the volume is in read-only state.
