RN314 locking on large backup jobs

I have been trying to backup one of the shares on my RN314 for the past 2 weeks and the box gets compleatly locked up when ever I try.

OS verson: 6.4.1

Drive setup: (4) 1Tb Drives (Raid 5)

Share setup: Protocals (SMB & RSYNC) Size (1.1Tb)

Other backups to and from the divice via Rsync and Windows time stamp methods work just fine.

I have also tried to pull data from this share to another destination useing windows to copy & useing microsoft Synctoy. All methods cause the box to lockup.  I am unable to access the admin portal or any share on the divice via network sharing.

This started to happen after OS 6.4.0 and continued with OS 6.4.1

Please Help...

You might want to open a chat/email support case on this.  If you do, please post the case number on this thread (and link the case to this forum post).

There are some other users reporting lockups during backup with 6.4.1.

Same issue here - updated to 6.4.1 last week Thursday and the backups have been a nightmare. The RN314 hard locks, nothing relevant is reported in the log files and the unit must be power cycled to restore connectivity. Is there an internal KB to refer to when calling in? I'm most unhappy as I'm just past the standard support warranty and will have to pay for support, 6.4.0/6.4.1 really messed everything up.

I suggest asking for free support, since the Netgear firmware upgrade is what caused your problem.  That's be worth a try anyway.

But chat/email support likely are still free for the RN314.  When did you purchase?
