RN51600 – ReadyNAS 516 6-Bay will not boot - recovery options?
My RN51600 stopped working after a power outage, with an error message on the panel stating "mount_block_root +25e"
Powering it down and then powering it up again gives the same message. I removed all 6 disks (labeling their order so as not to mix them up), powered up again and still get the same error message.
Prior to today everything was working fine, and the last time I updated the firmware was within the past two weeks.
Do I have any options for revivng the chassis?
Would I be able to mount the drives in a new chassis (without losing my old data of course)?

Not sure. It sounds like the flash is damaged. You could try USB recovery. https://kb.netgear.com/29952/How-do-I-use-the-USB-Recovery-Tool-on-my-ReadyNAS-OS-6-storage-system
If the NAS is under warranty (5 years) then you could try getting a warranty replacement (RMA) via my.netgear.com.

Probably. If the disks were damaged when the power failed, or if the array went out-of-sync due to lost (cached) writes, then you'd need data recovery (which might not be possible, depending on the circumstances). But if the array/disks are intact, then you can move the disks to another OS 6 ReadyNAS (for instance, an RN526x, RN528x, RN626x, RN628x).

I suggest getting a UPS to prevent this from happening in the future. Also, you should put a backup plan in place for the NAS.
