RND2110 expansion

I am new and logging in for the 1st time. I have a NETGEAR ReadyNASRND2110 and I want to put 2 4TB drives in it. Is there any firmware update that will allow to to see all 4 TB instead of seeing it as a 2TB? Thank you.

Gary

Ok. Then the largest disks it can handle are 2 TB. You can set it up as flexraid to get 4 TB total space with two disks.

There are two ways to do that- one is "jbod" where you have a C volume and a D volume that are independent. The second way is to use a single RAID-0 volume that spans both disks.

Jbod is safer - if a disk fails with jbod, you only lose what was stored on that disk. With the single RAID-0 volume you lose everything.

Details on installing flexraid are here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ ... 6Dec11.pdf

You will need to do a factory reset (losing your config and all your data).
  • Thank you for the great information. It looks like I am in the market for a new box.
