RNDU2000 has died?
Hi!
My ReadyNAS has died, the power cord show the green light so it seems to put through power but something has happened on the way to the NAS.
Is there anyway to switch the DC IN module?
Is that a normal problem? The RNDU2000 has got all my pictures 8 years back in it's heart on 2 * 2TB disks.

Just because the LED is lit on the supply does not mean it is supplying sufficient voltage and power to the NAS, yo could determine if it maybe just needs a new supply. But to answer your question, no, there is no separate power module in the Ultra2, nor are parts available from Netgear. There are ways to use a PC to recover the files, Netgear can help you recover them with a newer model NAS, or you could get any of the legacy Intel based units to swap your drives into, as long as it is still running OS 4.2.x.

The Ultra 2 has an external PSU doesn't it ?
These are widely available and relatively inexpensive, try googling "Netgear Ultra 2 Power Supply"
- s96talleAspirantThanks, tried with another PSU that works but NAS still dead. đ
- s96talleAspirantThanks, found another power supply today that puts out 12V and 5A but the NAS will not wake up.... So seems to be something more complicated unfortunately.
