Rsync on two 2100 NAS does not progress
My Rsync jobs do not appear to be working at all. All I get is this:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INCREMENTAL Backup started. Tue Jan 15 13:50:10 EST 2013
Job: 001
Protocol: rsync
Source: [Kauffmans]//Cider
Destination: 192.168.3.12::UsersBak
sending incremental file list
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It hangs there, for hours if I let it.
Both NAS's are on 4.2.22, on the same LAN subnet, Rsync is read/write on both, Rsync has the same user/pw on both, the backup successfully connects when I created it, and when I do a regular Windows file copy between the two (from my Win7 x64 laptop), that file transfer (90 Mb) works fine. I've tried different folders and also tried the backup job in both directions, with same results every time.
Ideas?

- kanjaAspirantHi!
I got similar problem. I'm trying to copy shares from Duo to Pro with Rsync. First I started a backup job on one share. Although this share is quite large (700 Gb) I gave up after ten days. Status read "in progress" all the time. So I hit Cancel. Now status is "Cancelling" and nothing happened from January 8th.
What should I do? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserMaybe restart the ReadyNAS doing the copy. You can probably tell from the timestamp which file was interrupted, and should delete that one.
Generally it is best to do the initial copy via frontview backup using NFS, and than edit the backup job to do subsequent copies with rsync. However 700 GB should not take 10 days on a wired connection.
