Rsynch backup from RN214 to RN104. Cannot connect

I am running  RN214 and RN104 both with the current FW (6.9.1).

Upon setting up the Rsynch backup between the two, the backup job cannot connect to the backup (RN104) system. Although when I use the test button it goes through ok. The other error I see is Failure during copy.

Any thoughts as to what I can check?

I've tried various ports.

I've made sure shares on both systems are Rsync read/write.

Not sure where to go next!

Thanks for your help in advance

John

  • Here is an example of the log for a failed attempt:

    Backup Job Name: Test
    Backup Job Type: Full
    Protocol: rsync
    Backup Source: [Test]/
    Backup Destination: [remote:rsync]/192.168.1.68::Test
Backup Start Time: Mon Jan 15 2018 17:19:09
Backup Finish Time: Mon Jan 15 2018 17:19:09
Backup Status: Fail: Failure during copy.

Failed to run rsync, return rc 10
    'rsync' command returns rc=10

rsync: failed to connect to 192.168.1.68 (192.168.1.68): Connection refused (111)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(125) [sender=3.1.2]

Changed port to 873 and that fixed it.

    Thanks!

Use 873 for the port.  Also, if you are using the hostname of the remote system, then try using it's IP address.
