Same brand external USB drive Issues using the same USB NAS port

Hello,

I purchased a USB Backup Hub 10TB Hard Drive which has 2 extra USB ports (Seagate Backup Plus Hub 10TB External Hard Drive Desktop HDD - USB 3.0, with 2 USB extra Ports, etc.)

I also have 4 (identical brand) USB (3.0) 4tb WD Hard Drives (SATA-3) drives in external (identical brand) enclosures - with their own power supplies.

I plug 2 of the WD USB 4TB drives into the 'USB Backup Hub 10TB Hard Drive', and it all works fine when plugged into Windows (10).

However, when plugg into the Netgear NAS (316) both 4TB USB hard drives that are attached to the 10TB Hard Drive, do not show in the NAS (OS 6.96).

I've troublshooted as follows:

Plug only the 10TB USB Hard Drive Hub itno the NAS = Shows and works fine on the NAS

Plug a 4TB hard drive into the NAS = both show and work fine on the NAS (one at a time)

Plug each 4TB har drive into the NAS at the same time (one in each NAS USB port) = both show and work fine on the NAS

Plug 1x4TB Hard Drive into the 10TB USB Hard Drive HUB = both show and work fine on the NAS

Plug 2x4TB Hard Drives into the 10TB USB Hard Drive HUB = Only the 10TB Drives shows on the NAS.

I've also tested 2+ USB drives using a USB HUB into the NAS, but had the same issue - so its not the Hubs.

It appears the ReadyNAS does not properly identify the drives, when using the same make and model hard drives ON THE SAME NAS USB PORT.

The drives are all named differently, each HD has its own unique SN, etc., so not sure why its not working. It appears to be a OS6.96 bug

/etc/frontview/usb/usb_map does not seem to add the extra drive(s).

Anyone tested with 2 of the same drives on the same NAS port and have this issue? If so, how can this be fixed?
