"Security settings failed to apply" when joining domain
When I attempt to join my ReadyNAS 102, I get the following descriptive error message. I thought my NAS may be corrupt so I just got done doing a complete factory restore. No luck.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
I've tried pulling the domain_join.log but it never appears, even after failing to join, switching to local authentication, etc.
The ReadyNAS OS seems so buggy :-/
The NETBIOS is correct, the domain is correct, I tried with the domain Administrator user account as well as with a copy of the Administrator account. I also tried it as ARKONLABS\Administrator and Administrator@corp.arkonlabs.com.
The directory server address is correct and I've tried it by IP as well as by FQDN (SERVER01.corp.arkonlabs.com) and I've also tried leaving it blank.
10.0.0.5 is an AD DC, DNS, and DHCP home lab server.
Its DNS server is correctly configured and I'm able to use NSLOOKUP to resolve both IPs to hostnames and hostnames to IPs.

And if I try to join via SSH, I get this:

Lastly, I used LDP.EXE on a Windows computer to test the LDAP server.
It seems to be successful as I was able to authenticate as the user ARKONLABS\readynas

- NhellieVirtuosoA permssion issue I think? May need to pre stage the NAS' account in the AD?
There is also a possibility that samba is causing this. Try reinstalling your OS. - I just reinstalled the readynas os this morning.
I've also tried creating the NAS computer account in AD before joining.
No luck.
What kind of permissions issue do you think?
Any idea what the SSH error means? - NhellieVirtuosoThe SSH error is a common one when joining a domain fails, check this thread (might have been mentioned here):

Hope this helps, if not, might as well contact support. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI'm a bit confused by the mention of LDAP? The ReadyNAS doesn't support connecting to a server via LDAP.
