Share problem NV
Hello, I have a problem creating a new share on my NV. I have added a new volume and when I try to create a new share on this volume I can't then access from windows XP or 7. Anytime I try to map...
The Italian does make it a bit tricky.
Let's work it the other direction (using the English UI ...) The steps below will adjust your share permissions so that all files/folders can be accessed by any device on your local network w/o a password. So try this on one share, and then maybe reboot the media player and try again. These steps apply to user security mode.
Select "shares", the "share listing", and select the "CIFS" icon next to one of the shares.
Set the Default Access (next to the share name" as "Read/Write"
Check the box next to "allow Guest access" under "Share Access Restrictions".
Scroll down to "advanced cifs permissions" and check the box next to "automatically set permissions on new files and folders". Set the group rights and everyone rights to "read/write".
Then click apply (lower right).
Now click on the "advanced options" tab on the upper right.
Set the Share Folder Owner to "nobody" (without the quotes).
Set the Share Folder Group to "nogroup".
Set folder group rights to "read/write"
set folder everyone rights to "read/write".
check the box next to "set ownership and permissions..."
check the box next to "grant rename and delete privileges to non-owner of files".
Then click apply again.
The checkbox next to "set ownership" will immediately clear - that is normal. The permissions will be changed in the background - after a while a pop-up will tell you it is complete.
