Do you have user account on the NAS with the same name as the share?

BTW, what NAS and what firmware?

    Hello smartnas,

    Welcome to the community!

Any new share you create should not have the same name as any existing share and local user of the NAS.

Please note that all local users will have their own personal home share with the share name same with their username, so creating a share that is the same with the existing username will cause conflict.

Access to the NAS shares will depend on the permission of the share you are accessing. See access right to shared folders article for more info about setting up the permissions.

    Regards,

Just to add to Jenn's comment on naming.

A share cannot have have the same name as a volume either.  The default volume name is "data", so don't try to use that as a share name too.

The reason is the same as the username issue.  "data" is already shared (but restricted to the NAS admin).  You can't have two shares with the same name.
