Please need helpI have setup a readynas 102 on my network created shares and users all with password needed to access folders and files, alllooked great and worked fine vial lan or remote access until I noticed on another computer on my local network that thereadynas came up in network location (Showing the readynas symbol) and came up as a Network device showing sharefolders.(Browsfolders-Music-Video-Pictures) There are other folders that I had created on the nas that do not show up.alsothe folders listed I had changed to (Pics-Vids-)Clicking on the nas I could access these files without any need of anycredentials and all my files within those folders,even able to delete change etc,but if I trie to access the nas or same files vianetwork address or places i needed user name and passwordI then added a laptop that I had just purchased to the lan and same thingAll system running windows 10 Thanks in advance

There is an antivirus, just no "plus" app that lets you control it. I give Netgear a score of -10 out of 10 for this blunder. A complete replacement of the AntiVirus should not be in a third-digit upgrade (6.6.0 to 6.6.1). It should have been made much more obvious as 6.7. The description in the release notes "Updated the AV to work with AV different servers" is whoily inadaquate and not even proper grammar. Will everyone reading it even know that "AV" means "Anti-Virus"? "Updated"? Actually "Totally replaced". And including it without any means of controlling it, especially given the number of false alarms and other issues users have been reporting, is insane. Is there nobody at Netgear with enough business sence and awareness of user needs to reign in the programmers? Until Netgear gets their act together, I recommend turning AV off. Many others have had to do the same to get around other issues.

Hi JennCThanks for the replySorry I think my question was all over the place, I find it a little hard explaining via textI have no problem accessing folders or filesThe problem is that other systems on local land via windows explorer see the folders (Browse Folders-Music-Video-Pictures) and can access them with no need of user name and passwords, all files can be edited.But from the same systems on local land if try and access the nas via web browser or network,user name and passwords requiredAlso why are the folders named differently in windows explorer as to what they are named on the nas eg Video should be Vids and Pictures should be PicsEven though tere are other folders on the nas only (Browse Folders-Music-Video-Pictures) show up in windows explorerThis has eventuated since 6.6.1 upgradealso Antivirus plus disappearedSpeed of nas access has dropped drasticallyThanksSalv

Hello Salv, Can you access those folders that are named differently? Do they have the same files as shown on the admin page's Shares' files? AntiVirus plus was removed automatically because the embedded AntiVirus has been updated and Netgear changed to another provider. I guess we'll have to wait for a new AntiVirus plus app. Regards,
