Perhaps double-check that DLNA is enabled in the media shares, and then do a manual scan from system->settings.

Hi StephenB
Thanks. I've just checked and DLNA was selected. I've also rescanned. Still not working . I noticed however that I could see my pictures but still no video or music.

Did anything change on the NAS or your home network generally around the time it stopped working?
One other possibility is that some media file has an issue that is causing the media scanner to crash. That would explain why you see photos but nothing else. You could try turning DLNA off on all shares, and then creating a test share, copying a few music and video files that you know worked before. Then enable DLNA on just that test share, and scan again. Let us know if files will stream from the test share.

Hi StephenB
Thank you! Some success.
This evening a firmware upgrade came through. No change. I then took the steps you suggested (ie removing DLNA from existing shares, creating new shares with DLNA enabled and adding sample files to each new test folder) and this worked. I then re-enabled DLNA on existing shares and was still able to see the sample files - however adding new files resulted in new audio files being visible but not video files. I even deleted and re added the sample video file. Weird. Anyway I guess I will just repeat the process and put all files into new shares and see how it goes. Thanks very much for yours and everyone elses help.

My guess is that there is one (or possibly a few) video files that trigger the problem, so if you move them all the problem will move with it. The details might change - you might see most of the files in the library, but not all, and you won't be able to add new ones.
A tedious but effective method is to scan them in groups, then check that that the full group is visible.
A second temporary share might be helpful in this - for instance remove your new share from the DLNA list for now, and enable it on the temp share. Move a group of files over into the temp share. Rescan, and make sure they are all seen. If they can be, then move them into the new share and repeat until all the files are checked. Otherwise try winnowing down the files in the temp share, rescanning them each time until you isolate the problem file(s).
