Hi frallori,
Just in case you have not noticed yet.
We have a new firmware release.
ReadyNAS OS 6 Software Version 6.6.1

My problem was resolved by doing what StephenB suggested (ie create new share etc). I didn't end up going through with the second suggestion of trying to work out which file may have been causing the problem.

I've been having very similar behaviour since my upgrade to ReadyNAS V 6.6.0 & 6.6.1. Hardware is ReadyNAS 104. I use a range of devices to connect to the DLNA service on the ReadyNAS, including Samsung Smart TV, LG Smart TV and numerous Android Apps. The DLNA service appears as an option and then, when selected, it is unable to service the requests, with the calling app just hanging. When the apps rescan, the ReadyNAS is no longer listed as an available DLNA server.
The only mechanism I have found to fix this currently is a reboot of the ReadyNAS device. Since the behaviour is across multiple client devices, the common factor seems to be the ReadyNAS itself and the fact that I had just performed the update to 6.6.0 and then 6.6.1 immediately after (since I missed the release of the 6.6.0 patch). The system was pretty up to date on OS before that point - it had still been running a 2016 patch level - and has not had these DLNA service crashes before.

Have you reviewed the logs to verify your suspicion that the service is crashing?
