Snapshot Recovery Mode

I am using a RN526X and have recently enabled Snapsots.  In looking at the Netgear video about Snapshots, it makes reference to a Recovery Mode icon that you can click to see the Snapshot files.

I do not seem to have that icon in my Admin panel nor have I found a way to view the files in Snapshot unless I go into the Snapshots folder and select the actual date (I am making daily snapshots) I want.  That seems wrong since I may not know what date I am looking for if I deleted a file.

I am also using ReadyDR to send the Snapshots to a RN314.  I cannot find a way to view those actual files either.

Am I doing something wrong?

Regards,

David

    Hello dschwartzer,

I checked again and found that the images do not have option for using thumbnails. However, double-clicking one of the images will open another window that will show all the images of the folder.

    Hello dschwartzer,

Under Shares you should see Snapshots button. This will take you to the list of shares that have snapshots. Double-clicking a snapshot will show you the files, right-clicking on a snapshot file will also give you an option to browse.

Thanks for the quick response.  I did find the Snapshots button as you suggested and I did restore a file so that is covered.

That said, it seems like you need to know the date or day you want to go back to to find the old file.  There doesn't appear to be a way to scroll through multiple Snapshots until you find the file you want.  Is that correct?

Finally, when I looked at the online Netgear video which was showing how to restore a deleted photo, the video showed a thumbnail of the photo in the Snapshop folder.  My photos just show a generic icon.  Since most of my photos have a similar name (img####, etc.) it is near impossible to find the photo you are looking for.  Is there something I need to do so I can see a thumbnail of the photo and not just an icon?

      Regards,

      David

        Hello dschwartzer,

Are you using 6.6.0 firmware version?

I will have to take a look again.
