The OS6 file system automatically snapshots the data, which gives you some protection if you accidentally delete something. If you select the "shares" tab on the web interface, you will see how many snapshots has stored for each folder. These snapshots take up disk space of course.
The only method I know of for deleting these snapshots is not obvious in the UI, and it is also tedious. From the shares page, click "browse". Then click on "recovery mode" (second icon from the left). Then select the share.
You'll get a bunch of snapshot icons, with dates and times. If you right-click on a snapshot icon, there will be a delete option. This doesn't delete your main data, just the snapshot.
So try that, and see if you get data back.
BTW, you can control the snapshot creation on the share page (click on the share and select "properties"). The relevant settings are "continuous protection" and the interval pull-down. Though changing these settings does not delete any existing snapshots.
