specified ou does not exist in the domain

Hi,

Urgent help needed!

After an upgrade from 6.4.x to 6.6.1, I now cannot get the ReadyNAS to talk to AD!

All I get is the message "specified ou does not exist in the domain".

I have tried all combinations, but the system will not talk to AD.

This is really urgent, as I now have a 20 users who cannot get access to their data!

To add to the issues, I now cannot log into the ReadyNAS - all I get is a page with;

"Connecting to the ReadyNAS Admin Page", a moving bar, then nothing!

Please help!

  • I have eventually solved the issues that I have had.

    If anyone has had similar issues, upgrading to v6.6.1, this is the only way that I found that worked:

    1. Backup all data off NAS

    2. Write down your configuration (don't bother saving it - see below)

    3. Wipe the NAS using the power button/reset button method - do NOT use the web interface to wipe - it does not seem to do it properly

    4. Manually rebuild your configuration. Do not use the config backup, as it makes the system unstable and you'll have to wipe it again (it certainly did in my case). It would appear that a config backup may not always work [on rebuild], and may carry across errors or instabilities or may be just incompatible with the newer firmware.

    I hope this helps anyone with the same problems.

  • I have managed to get access to the web console, but it does not last long. The only way I am able to regain access is by manually rebooting the NAS.

    I am trying different things, but the NAS keeps locking up.

    Can I either downgrade to 6.6.0 or go back to 6.4.x (if so, how?) or is there an "RC" version of firmware that I could try? 6.6.1 on the 3220 appears to be very unstable.

    Thanks in advance.

      OK, after managing to perform an OS reinstall, I have managed to get back into the NAS. However, it looks like 6.6.1 has really messed things up, as I still have the following issues:

      Users still cannot access all the shares

      I am unable to run a configuration backup

      I am unable to configure more than 1 NIC (I previously had all 4 bonded together)

      I am unable to change the admin password

      I am unable to enter email details for alerts

      Monitoring has really gone pear-shaped -

      I now have 3 fans labeled Fan 1!

      Four sensors are showing crazy levels:

      AUXTIN3 = +107°C

      PCH_CHI = -13°C

      PECI = -77°C

      (And my personal favourite) AUXTIN0 = -128°C!!!!!!!

      I'm guessing 6.6.1 is not the best update and I'm going to have to reset to factory and rebuild. But can someone tell me if I can rebuild with an older version?

        Did you perform a manual re-install firmware after downloading OS 6.6.1 and unzipping it from HERE or a Boot Menu OS re-install

        The manual method may be best IMHO
