(Still) Can't connect via AFP
Hi there. I'm running a ReadyNAS NV+ for home use. It's on firmware version RAIDiator 4.1.14. For no apparent reason, I stopped being able to connect using AFP (you can see the original thread relati...

Ok, so I think this is now solved.
I could connect to the server via AFP by:
1. going Finder -> Go -> Connect to Server
2. inputting the server address (afp://192.168.xx.xx)
3. Selecting "connect as guest" on the resulting dialogue box.
This mounted the share under the "devices" header in the Finder sidebar, and then eventually the share appeared under the "Shared" header in the Finder sidebar (as AFP).
However, it was still not visible under the Time Machine configuration, despite having Time Machine enabled. To fix that, I had to reconnect as the username and password specified in the Time Machine tab of ReadyNAS frontview.
So it seems to be a permissions issue. I have no idea why the previously working configuration stopped reconnecting suddenly, but I guess it's all back now.
Thanks for the assistance.

Can you also send in the Config Backup to the same address?

I can see there is one share for which AFP is enabled.
Are you connecting to AFP as a guest or as another user?
Which version of Mac OS X are you running?- waldogFeb 26, 2016Aspirant
Hi. I'm running OSX 10.11.3, but a computer running Snow Leopard has the same behaviour.
I will check when I'm home tonight what account I'm using to connect (there has never been a dialogue asking for my username / password, so I assume it's just as my user account under OSX). I've tried1. seeing if the share shows up in the Finder (the windows filesystem shows up there, AFP not).2. connecting by Finder -> Go -> Connect to server -> afp://server_ip_address/3. using time machine. The NAS has time machine support enabled, but the disk does not show up in Time Machine preferences.
