streaming media to iphone from readyNAS NV+ (it works!)
ok, ever since I got this iphone a few month's ago I have been looking for a nice way to access the music, pictures and maybe even video I store on my readyNAS NV+. I tried crossfire, but it never ...
2 things:
1. if you are on the same sub-net as the readyNAS with your iphone, it should just find it. make sure readyDLNA is running on the NAS.
2. if you don't have version 2.4.0, it won't work from outside your local network. the dev gave me a beta to give it a try. Perhaps you can write him to get on the beta as well. with 2.4.0 it finds the readyNAS on the local network, and for outside my LAN I had to add http://[dyndns name of readyNAS]:8200 as the Base URL. I also increased the timeout to 15 seconds to help with 3G and edge.
Device URL - Device Description XML file, is the path to the xml file that describes the Media Server. with the readyNAS it is something like http://[ip of your nas]:8200/rootDesc.xml
