Hi there I have been digging through the forums on solutions to what seems to be a common problem at the moment - cannot start surveillance app, apps icons all missing and cannot rebuild the list as ...

Hi all,
Well I found some storage in a mates NAS as the only solution I could come up with is a factory reset.
Did this and all working again. Took the upgrade to 6.7.5 and all working. did one more reset and we are away again.
Now I need to get my Surveillance license key reactivated...ahhhh.

Before I also found a similar problem, you can try to clear the browser's cache.

sorry missed this the first time round - have done so with chrome and no luck still get the error message posted above in screenshot. Also tried MS Edge and get:
Hmm, we can’t reach this page.
Try this
- Make sure that you’ve got the right web address: http://192.168.1.3:5100
Can ping the NAS, but will see if it is a port issue.

Hi there, have sent my logs in to see if the is anything contained within them that may point to a resolution. It would seem like a reset is possibly my only option.
Thanks in advance.

In packages.log I see
ii php5 5.4.4-14+deb7u11 all server-side, HTML-embedded scripting language (metapackage) ii php5-cli 5.6.29+dfsg-0+deb8u1 amd64 command-line interpreter for the php5 scripting language
It would be best if these were on the same version of php
I guess that could be part of the problem if PHP was partially updated and broke something.

Somehow you ended up with a very strange mix of packages on there. You could try something like:
# apt-get install {php5,php5-cli,libapache2-mod-php5}=5.6.24+dfsg-0+deb8u1.netgear1
# apt-get purge apache2-bin apache2-dataand see where that gets you.

Thanks for that Skywalker
Executing the first command line from the recommendation gave me these errrors:
root@Honbu:~# apt-get install {php5,php5-cli,libapache2-mod-php5}=5.6.24+dfsg-0+deb8u1.netgear1

You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
