Go into "turn windows features on or off" in the PC, and make sure the SMB 1.0 client is enabled.
Microsoft is deprecating SMB 1.0. It has security issues, but you need it to access your legacy Nas.

That fixed it. Thanks for that. I know it's old, but it still works, and it has some nice WD red 3TBs in it, so i don't want to muck with it...

Glad it helped.
Longer term, you could convert your NAS to run OS-6 (which uses SMB 3.0), or possibly use the Windows NFS client to reach your 4.2.x NAS.

Oh, Is that possible? I didn't think it copuld be upgraded. Is there a guide to upgrading to OS-6? Or is it straightforward??

There are several threads here that explain the procedure (some are very long). Here's one: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/Ultra-6-OS-Upgrade-from-4-2-30-to-OS-6/td-p/1181053
The process is destructive, so you will need a full backup. There is a similar procedure to reverse it - also destructive.
Netgear won't provide support legacy systems that run OS-6, and there is no guarantee that future firmware updates will work on them.
