The Ultimate CPU for Pro 6
What is the most powerful CPU that you can put in the Pro 6? The E7600 and the Q6600 are confirmed, but anybody got any further?

Learned the hard way: first check the air flow direction ;-)
The air must flow from the front to the back, and the lateral CPU fan must suck the air in.

I was running x3210 on my pro6 for more tthan two years with stock fans without any problems.
The x3230 is the q6700, you can check it on http://ark.intel.com/compare/30797,30790
The most powerful of the same family, Kentsfield, should be the QX6850: http://ark.intel.com/products/codename/23489/Kentsfield#@All
But it has a 130W TDP, so you'll have to seriously think about cooling, I guess.
