time machine to nas disk space issue
Hi,
I have wiped NAS of data in preparation to Timemachine to use as sole backup destination. 1TB is available.
When time machine runs for 1st time I get following error but there is plenty of available space. Any ideas?
---------------------------------------
This backup is too large for the backup disk. The backup requires 586.36 GB but only 536.42 GB are available.
Time Machine needs work space on the backup disk, in addition to the space required to store backups. Open Time Machine preferences to select a larger backup disk or make the backup smaller by excluding files.

- rdifrangoAspirantI'm running into the same thing and for one reason or another it won't allow me to allocate the entire disk for Time Machine.
- barkproAspirantI discussed with Apple support today, they say that as long as TM can see the drive there should be no issues on the Mac side. Must be a NAS issue.
