Tivo not archiving - ReadyNAS Pro 4.2.15
(moved post from Streaming Services forum)
I have enabled Tivo support. There are shows that have been set as Keep Until I Delete (KUID). I have confirmed this using the Tivo itself and Tivo Desktop. Both indicate a number of shows that are KUID.
The archive process runs but nothing is archived. Checked the logs and each of the shows that are KUID have the following log entries:
[2010/10/22 14:17:42] tivo_utils.c:246: info: Voyage to the Planets ((null)) is no longer KUID. Skipping.
I re-confirmed that the shows ARE still KUID by checking the Tivo and by checking TiVo desktop, both of which indicate that the shows are KUID.
I then tried recording a new show as KUID then reran the archive. I get the same log messages and the new show is not archived.
Any comments or ideas welcome.

- ThomColemanAspirantTry rebooting either your TiVo, or your ReadyNAS, or both.

Tried both of these - no change.
David - davidpwAspirant(update)
also tried removing all KUID flags, turned off Tivo support then turned it on again and reregistered the Tivo.
Reset all the KUIDs.
no change in the problem. Its as though the ReadyNAS thinks it WAS a KUID, rather than IS a KUID.
David - davidpwAspirantStill have not resolved this issue. Given the lack of response I suppose that I should raise a problem.
I am a bit surprised that no-one else has experienced this type of problem.
I have PHP shell access. Is there a way to clear the database to see if that helps?
David - upstate22AspirantI'm having those kinda issues with my ultra6 -- 4.2.15 as the web interface shows my folder as /c/media/Tivo but it saves to /c/media/TiVo (capital V) .. crazy I know...
so I copied over the files from TiVo into the correct dir and the log shows a bunch of
REAL_FILENAME is no longer KUID. Skipping.
I'm going to hand edit the /etc/readytivo.conf file to match what I think it should archive to. - upstate22AspirantI'm still getting this second TiVo directory ...
drwxrwxrwx 3 root root 4096 2010-10-21 08:43 Tivo
drwxrwxrwx 3 root root 4096 2010-10-28 23:00 TiVo
I'm setting/using the lowercase Tivo in the Archive videos to: http://screencast.com/t/ClHCJ0av
I again moved the files into Tivo and created a sym link from TiVo to Tivo ... I checked in /etc/readytivo.conf and it still points to:
path = /c/media/Tivo
Anyone else having this issue or suggestions? - saa1AspirantI am having an issue like this -- did you find a resolution? In my case, I created a share called "Media" (capital M) and included a folder within it called "Video/TiVo". I configured the ReadyDLNA service to archive to this directory, but it doesn't work. When I look at the logs, I see:
[2010/11/02 06:21:59] tivo_utils.c:308: info: Archiving to "/c/media/TiVo/downstairs/America's Got Talent/America's Got Talent - 520 - Four more acts make it into the top 24.TiVo"...
[2010/11/02 06:50:00] tivo_utils.c:389: info: Finished archiving "America's Got Talent - 520 - Four more acts make it into the top 24.TiVo"
[2010/11/02 06:50:00] database.c:36: error: SQL ERROR 1 [table archives has no column named source_tivo]
INSERT INTO archives (show_title, episode_title, duration, recorded_time, episode_no, program_id, series_id, archival_time, source_tivo) VALUES ('America''s Got Talent', 'Four more acts make it into the top 24', 60, 1280973598, 520, 8298780104, 829878, 1288705800, 'downstairs')
[2010/11/02 06:50:00] database.c:133: error: Adding info for America's Got Talent to db failed!
Notice that it thinks it is archiving to "/c/media/TiVo/downstairs/..." when it should be archiving to "/c/Media/Video/TiVo/...".
I have tried stopping and restarting the service. No luck.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Scott - davidpwAspirantI suspect that the Tivo archiving capability is not working properly. My problem is a bit different to yours in that mine thinks that all the programs are no longer KUID (Keep Until I Delete). It seems to pick those that are KUID from the Tivo but then decides that they are no longer KUID.
There was another person who had a similar problem as yours (i.e. archiving to an incorrect directory)and was thinking of using PHP to maually alter the configuration file but I am not sure how that went.
I have had no word from anyone who seems to know why my particular problem is occurring. I am thinking of just switching off the archiving and assuming that it is broken.
Look on the bright side: at least you are getting some sort of archiving. :-) I cannot get anything to archive anywhere!
David :? :? - saa1AspirantThanks David -- I think you are right in that our problems are different. I tried an experiment last night and created a news share then configured ReadyDLNA to archive TiVo to that new share. Well, it still tried to archive to "/c/media/TiVo/..."!
I can't seem to locate another post about this problem. I may have to figure out how to use PHP as you suggest and see if I can see something. Rats.
Thanks, Scott - aeimisAspirantOn 4.2.15 on ultra4. After not getting any support from Netgear or this board about my bad file issues when two ethernet ports were connected (.tivo files were randomly not playable) - I disconnected one and everything works fine except for the kuid issue and also the problem if you delete from the tivo archive folder, the readynas will not redownload the file because it is in the internal database, I found the info below on the tivocommunity.com site. Hope this helps some of you until Netgear incorporates some of it in the gui and possibly adds a bit more features. I put the txt and csv files in my folder structure and they populated after restarting the archive time. Going to see if the pruning feature works so I can get my bad archives corrected. What gets me is that I found no mention of this feature - but I may have missed it in the faq's or somewhere. I put the files in media\Tivo\. Also I am running this with two Tivo's and they both are archiving to their own separate directories. (media\Tivo\DVR BD and media\Tivo\DVR HD1. Best of luck.
saa: your log shows an sql error missing a field named source_tivo. Here are the my downloaded headers from the file export.csv.
#SHOW_TITLE EPISODE_NO EPISODE_TITLE SOURCE_TIVO DURATION SERIES_ID PROGRAM_ID RECORDED_TIME ARCHIVAL_TIME
your db could be just missing the field or more likely there is some other things missing which may require a reinstall....

The evolution of the TiVo function on the ReadyNAS x86 line continues! At least one more bugfix, which was discovered too late to make it into the commit for the 4.2.14 full release of the ReadyNAS firmware. Plus some backdoor tools for the ReadyNAS TiVo function.
Here is a link to THE ReadyTiVo 1.3.1 software addon: http://www.readynas.com/download/add..._1.3.1-x86.bin
This version has support for dump.txt, prune.txt, export.csv, and import.csv. Export.csv and import.csv are introduced in this version of ReadyTiVo. Dump.txt and prune.txt were introduced in a previous version.
When the ReadyNAS begins an archive cycle, it looks in the configured root TiVo directory to see if any files called dump.txt or prune.txt or export.csv or import.csv exist.
If dump.txt exists and is less than 2 bytes, it copies the contents of the readytivo database into dump.txt, one line per database item (show). This lets you view the database contents for troubleshooting purposes, and it also enlarges dump.txt beyond 2 bytes so that the next archive cycle will ignore dump.txt until you zero it out again.
If prune.txt exists, the ReadyNAS will read each line of prune and remove the database item (show) from the database. It only looks at the program id number at the beginning of the line. All text beyond the program id is ignored. The line must begin with a number or it will be ignored. All database entries with that program id will be removed from the database (there should be only one entry per program id). You can simply copy a line from dump.txt and paste it into prune.txt. Prune.txt is deleted after it is processed.
If export.csv exists and is less than 2 bytes, the ReadyNAS will fill it with the contents of the database in a comma delimited format, one line per database item (show). Data field purpose: SHOW_TITLE, EPISODE_NO, EPISODE_TITLE, DURATION, SERIES_ID, PROGRAM_ID, RECORDED_TIME, ARCHIVAL_TIME.
If import.csv exists and contains comma delimited data, the ReadyNAS will import that data into the database.
dump.txt and prune.txt are to be used to remove database entries that are preventing a show from being archived again.
export.csv and import.csv are to be used when migrating shows from one ReadyNAS to another ReadyNAS.
