Hi, I have recently upgraded my ReadyNAS Ultra 6 firmware to 4.2.30 and installed new hard disks (ST33000650NS Seagate Constellation).Now, when I try to transfer data to my RaidServer through USB, it takes forever (transfer rate 220KB/s). I am wondering if it is beacuse of the new firmware or something is wrong wih my hard disks. Best,Nader

Removed the disk serial numbers from your post.Is the array still syncing?

You can also try connecting a PC into the same ethernet jack the ReadyNAS is using, and see if it also negotiates 100 mbits.

The idea here is that the added switch might work around the negotiation problem (both the NAS and the university switch will negotiate speeds with the switch, and not directly with each other).

I get more or less the same speed over LAN connection.

  I'm running 4.2.30 on my pro-6, and I am seeing normal speeds. Is the array still syncing? Have you looked at the smart stats?

I think they are syncing but not sure how to find that about smart stats.

Under Status > Health there is a SMART+ button next to each disk to check the SMART stats for that disk.
