Tvix 6500, Mede8er MED600X3D and Readynas 104
Has anyone set up any of these players with NFS as I cannot get them to work on NFS with my Readynas RN104. I have turned on NFS on the shared folders on the NAS but have no idea what to put into the respective players so they can see the NAS. I know i have to put in the NAS ip address but its the share name I cant get correct. My NAS is named NAS then the hard drive is named WD_RED_4TB and my movie folder is called Movies. Can someone give me a dummies guide to what the share name should be so the players can connect to the NAS via NFS. They can connect via SMB with no problems but I get stuttering and audio loss on high bitrate rips. The only experience I have with NFS was with Allegro NFS which works fine from the PC with the 2 players.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserYou need to include the volume name in the mount (e.g, /data/Movies).
- apollo1965AspirantThanks so would this be correct /WD_RED_4TB/Movies, for my setup below
- vandermerweMasterYes.
As a matter of interest, what are you considering high bit rate, and how are the media players connected to the LAN?
You have jbod, you have a backup? - apollo1965Aspirant25-30Mpbs and there are 4 media players on the network, but only one used at a time. They all work fine when connected to PC via NFS with these high Mbps. I have back up on PC.
Thanks - vandermerweMasterConnected by wifi or ethernet?
- apollo1965AspirantI have tried this but still getting cannot connect to disk
- apollo1965AspirantEthernet
- apollo1965Aspirantvandermerwe they are wired and connected via a gigabit switch.
- vandermerweMasterThe syntax I need to use on my Dune is:
nfs://ipaddressofnas/c/sharename:/pathinshare
Having said that, from what I can see in the manual for the tvix, your path is correct.
How are your nfs permissions setup on the nas?
How does your media player know that your trying to connect via nfs? I can't see that on the screenshot.
I have also looked at the tvix manual, it mentions something about a utility that needs to be installed on your PC in order to use nfs and also that it seems to prefer ntfs filesystem ( something about file names). All this doesn't sound particularly encouraging.
What about the mede8er? - apollo1965AspirantI actually having a Dune also, have tried inputting
NFS
Server = 192.168.1.116
Folder = WD_RED_4TB/Movies Also tried (Movies) without the WD_RED_4TB
But again cannot access network folder error
SMB
Server = 192.168.1.116
Folder = Movies
This works fine on the Dune
I have turned on NFS in the Network access tab under settings in the movies folder on the nas. Allegro NFS runs on the PC for the Tvix and I dont have a problem accessing the PC via NFS from any device just the NAS via NFS
The Tvix knows I am connecting via NFS as on the right of the screen grab you can see where it says Normal (NFS)
