Ultra 6 plus - SMB not advertised anymore
Hello,
ULTRA6 PLUS 6x3TB Xraid2 OS 4.2.28 36% capacity used
Suddenly the SMB shares are no more showing on the windows clients - not related to 4.2.28 upgrade.
Shares are still accessible via the IP address, SSH works.
No mods were done recently, all disks are fine.
Maybe the CIFS service is not running ? Some partitions get full ?
I spent hours around this and can work my way around Windows and networking but would need pointers for Linux and such.
Any ideas ?
Thanks
Benoit

1) in /etc/var/log/samba/log.nmbd
nmbd version 3.6.25 started.

standard input is not a socket, assuming -D option
invalid permissions on socket directory /var/nmbd :manfrustrated:
ERROR: nb_packet_server_create failed: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
2) Change the permissionto 755 (it already was but probably a 'glitch' happened)
3) Restart nmbd
NAS:/etc/samba# nmbd -i
nmbd version 3.6.25 started.

You are saying that \\nasipaddress\sharename works?
If so, what exactly is failing? Just the appearance of the NAS in the file explorer left pane? Or something else?
Hello,
Yes, the name is not recognized anymore. I thought I got access via IP but in fact not.
Admin & shares are accessible (shares is empty). And Other folders not accessible.
I have SSH & Frontview.
Maybe some service not running ?

Log in with ssh, and check the fullness of the OS partition
df . -h
df . -i
