Thanks mdgm, it was on firmware 4.2.20 - I'll put a spare unused drive into the new one and update the firmware to the latest. Should it then work fine and not matter if its different hardware, just concerned about the difference in hardware as the new one says 'Pioneer' so assume is newer ? Just don't want all my data being blatted ! (technical term LOL)
