Thanks for all your help mdgm, after a while the 1TB drive worked, took a while to get it working, not sure why it didn't work the first four times, finally the manual update worked and then rebooted and inserted the 2 x 2TB drives, all that lovely data :) Backup now being copied to external USB drive, thanks.
